Key Features for providing excellent microbiological diagnostics

1) Faculty- Ours is the only Centre where 2 doctors (Dr.K.N. Chhabra & Prof. B.R. Panhotra) have formally specialized in the subject of Microbiology. (unlike the usual practice of a Pathologist providing microbiological diagnosis)

2) State of the art Equipment- Bactec9050 & Mini-API.

3) Plating- Organisms prefer different kinds of culture media to grow. It is standard practice at our centre to plate samples on multiple media from the start. No organism is ever missed.

4) Staff- The centre has trained dedicated staff for performing microbiological diagnostic tasks.

5) Sterilization- cannot be emphasized enough. Diagnosis in the presence of contaminants is not just faulty it is impossible. Besides chemical disinfection & autoclaves, UV chambers provide the sterile atmosphere needed.
